Dear friends,
Today, Caleb & I answer the question, “Is God Real?”
Watch our video (and Caleb’s magic tricks) below to hear more!
Believers or not, I encourage you to read Lee Strobel’s book, The Case for Christ.
A former atheist, and a renown investigative journalist, Mr. Strobel set out to DISPROVE the life, death, and resurrection of Christ so that he could show his wife, a then-recently converted Christian, that Jesus and God are not real. He researched for almost two years, cross-examining several historical, medical, and religious experts.
But instead of disproving Christ, his unbiased findings only brought compelling evidence towards the TRUTH that Jesus was real and that he died and rose from the dead. More importantly, Strobel’s search led him to a personal relationship with Jesus and God, and he was transformed from being a non-believer to a believer and follower of Christ.
You can also watch the movie (which is based off the book) if you don’t have time to read the book. I watched the movie recently and absolutely loved it!
Let me ask you this— Do YOU believe God is real? If you don’t believe that God is real and you don’t believe that Jesus is the Son of God, I strongly encourage you to read Strobel’s book or to watch the movie. Review the evidence, like Strobel did, and formulate your own opinion.
Even after you review the evidence, however, it will still take a step of FAITH to believe in Him. We can’t see God with our eyes. We can’t hear Him with our ears. We can’t touch Him with our hands. But with faith, we can hear Him speak to us, feel His love, and see His promises in our day-to-day lives.
If you DO believe in God, then let me ask you this second question— What are you doing to get to know God better? I’d love to hear your comments.
I feel blessed to have been raised in a Christian home and to have had family, friends, and church leaders teach me about God and His Word from a very young age. As I got older, I started reading the Bible on my own to “review the evidence” and dig deeper into God’s truths and Jesus’ teachings.
But others aren’t as fortunate. There are many people in this world who have never heard of God, and there are also people in this world who have heard, but they reject the truth for one reason or another; maybe they didn’t hear it the right way or maybe they heard it during a time in their life when their heart wasn’t ready to receive it.
It is our calling, as Christ followers, to share the Good News, and to “make our case” for Christ. In Mark 16:15, Jesus said to His disciples, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” And 1 Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
If you were placed on the witness stand today in front of your peers, giving your testimony for God, what would you say? How would you live?
I encourage you to live your life like you are always on the witness stand. Giving the reason for the hope that you have in Jesus. People are watching and listening. Are you ready to make your case for Christ?
Your fellow witness,
Amy
